We are super proud to see so many MAPS ensembles attending the WGI EAST POWER REGIONAL this weekend in Toms River, NJ. 22 of the 36 ensembles in prelims have been in front of the MAPS judges this season! Congrats to all of you for growing your programs to this level. This has always been our vision for the circuit, to support and educate your groups so that they are ready for the national stage. With this is mind, we thought we'd pass along some info. just to help our groups to be successful. The time line will be a horizontal one, starting in the back and moving to the front when your time starts. This can affect you especially if you are used to plugging in your sound system up front. Mark Thurston has said that he will allow one person to cross the time line (once aproved by the T&P judge) in order to plug in your system, before your official time starts. Only one person will be allowed, and only for the sole purpose of plugging into power. You are then responsible for managing the cables as you roll forward across the time line when told to do so by the T&P judge. MAPS has no further info on this subject so please reach out to WGI if you have questions, but we thought we'd give you the heads up just the same. Good luck to all!

Al Al Moffatt - April 2013
MAPS is saddened by the news of the passing of Al Moffatt. Other than our founding board members no one had a greater impact on our organization than Uncle Al. He provided support and guidance to us in more ways than we can list. He will be greatly missed by MAPS and all of the marching percussion community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Carol and his children, David, Lauren, and Andrew.
